Airbus ends the 10th Dubai Airshow with record orders

TOULOUSE, FRANCE -- Airbus ended the 10th Dubai Airshow with major orders, re-enforcing customer confidence in its leading product range. During the show, Airbus received 163 firm orders valued at US over $28 billion at catalogue prices, from 10 customers. Airbus also won its largest ever order in terms of value for 70 A350 XWBs and 11 A380s from Emirates Airline. In addition, it received 132 commitments from four customers.

Thailand selects Gripen and Erieye

LINKÖPING, SWEDEN -- The Thai Cabinet has approved a budget of 34,400 billion baht (US$ 1.1 billion) for the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) to procure 12 (twelve) Gripen multi-role fighters, to replace its ageing fleet of F-5 B/E aircraft, and 2 (two) Saab Erieye AEW aircraft, together with associated equipment and services. Negotiations between Thai and Swedish government officials will now commence in order to conclude a formal agreement.

First A380 to be delivered to Singapore Airlines on Monday, 15th October

The exclusive event - hosted by Singapore Airlines, Rolls-Royce and Airbus - will take place at the Airbus Delivery Centre in Toulouse (France). The spacious double-decker aircraft is powered by four Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines.

Honda Aircraft Company Nominates HondaJet Empennage Supplier

Boeing Reschedules Initial 787 Deliveries and First Flight

CHICAGO -- The Boeing Company [NYSE:BA] today announced a six-month delay in its planned initial deliveries of the 787 Dreamliner due to continued challenges completing assembly of the first airplanes. Deliveries of the strong-selling Dreamliner are now slated to begin in late November or December 2008, versus an original target of May 2008. First flight is now anticipated around the end of first quarter 2008.

Hexcel to build prepreg facility in China
